Dry Creek Valley
The grapes are grown on a steep hillside above the famous Dry Creek Valley. This Zin is a classic Dry Creek style: abundant jammy strawberry, blackberry and sweet dark cherry aromas surround a full-bodied red wine with fine tannins and a long, crisp and juicy finish. 220 cases made.
2010 Grist Vineyard Zinfandel
Organically Grown
Finding and producing the ultimate Zinfandel has been my passion for over 20 years. This Zin comes from a famous vineyard located 1500 feet above Dry Creek Valley. The vines grow in red, mostly volcanic, soil. The terroir influenced the bright, firm acidity and concentrated the wild berry aromas. The finish is long and juicy and appetizing. 190 cases made.
The Madara Horseman on our wine label is based on a Bulgarian monument carved in bas relief twenty three meters above ground level in an almost vertical hundred meter high cliff. This mysterious sculpture was created at the beginning of the eighth century during the birth of the Bulgarian nation.
About the Winemaker
Miroslav Tcholakov began his winemaking career in early childhood, stomping grapes with his bare feet in his grandfather's small vineyard in Bulgaria.
